I'm an Official Business Woman!

Well, at least that's how I would define myself after I went through my first computer bag during my Extension Internship. Walking up and down Old Main for work with my computer in this case sure did do some wear and tear on the handles and straps of this thing.

Also, my BOSS For Kids material, a resource that teaches kids how to become entrepreneurs and start their own businesses, is now online, which makes me feel pretty official too. Check it out! http://extension.usu.edu/boss/ Just click on BOSS For Kids on the left table and again on the title in the middle of the screen.
Here are a few pictures I just have to share! I was walking down Old Main one day and noticed how magnificent the valley and mountains looked. (These pictures don't do justice.) I love where we live and think that it is one of the most beautiful places!

Christmas Break

Christmas break is now over and I am heading back to school tomorrow. This past three weeks of my Winter Break have been so fun! I have especially enjoyed spending time with with my family and friends celebrating the Christmas season. Here are just a few pictures of the break.

This is my brother Nathan and I before my friend Christmas party. My friends and I were to dress up like older adults for the party, so I threw on a wig. Getting ready for the party was pretty fun because my family started playing with wigs and we took some pretty funny pictures. We also laughed at how much some of us look like my mom with our short red hair.

For Christmas Eve, my family celebrated with my mom's side of the family at Aunt Pam and Uncle Gary's house. It sure was fun to visit with family, watch the younger kids put on a live nativity, and to open presents. What a fun night!

The kids begged my parents to let Lily in the house on Christmas morning so that we could have a "Cabelas" Christmas, like the pictures in the magazine with the dog by the Christmas tree. Christmas morning is the best. There is always a lot of excitement in the house early in the morning on Christmas.

On Christmas Day my family rode over to Bear River to see my dad's side of the family and celebrate with them. While there we were able to see a lot of family which was fun.

This past Saturday my family and I cross country skied up Green Canyon. The canyon was so beautiful with the snow covered trees creating a canopy of white on the trail above our heads. Everyone in my family had such a good time and I hope we go again. I enjoy building memories with those I love, and I am grateful for the opportunities I have to do so.

Our Little Town of Candy

My family and our creations!

My gingerbread house

Mom's house

Dad's house

For Family Home Evening this past week our family made gingerbread houses. It was a sweet, sticky, and super fun activity. We made a whole town of gingerbread, complete with a barn (nice job Whitney!) The activity turned out to be quite the competition between mom and dad to see who's house was the best. Who's do you think looks better?

My New-Old Bedroom

I haven't written for such a long time and had gotten some requests to put up pictures of my new bedroom so here they are. I redecorated my bedroom over the summer by giving my walls a fresh new coat of paint, getting a new bedspread, sewing some drapes (I made them from a shower curtain), and adding a few fun decorations as well. I still have the "Barbie Jail" wallpaper, but I love it!

School is Out!

I cannot believe how fast this school year has gone by! One year down, two more to go! It sure is crazy to think that I've already gone through 1/3 of my college experience!
I had a great spring semester and with a lot of interesting classes; Economics, Psychology, Business Statistics, Family Finance, Music (private flute lessons), and RAD (self defense). I have learned a lot from the broad range of courses I took. This picture is from my RAD class the night we took our final.

Watch out, because I have some pretty RAD skills now! ;)
I can't wait to start enjoying summer. I will be working on an internship this summer with the USU Extension. I am very excited about the opportunity and I think it will be a great experience.

The Nelson's Newest Addition

Welcome the Nelson's newest addition. A 7 week old pure bred yellow lab. We named her Lily. Actually her full name is Aggie Ida Easter Lily. (Everyone wanted to name her, so we put all the names together. ;)
