Miss Cache Valley 2010

This past weekend I had the opportunity to compete in the Miss Cache Valley Pageant. It was quite fun and I did really well. I took home the title of 3rd attendant! It was fun to meet and make friends with the other girls, and also prepare and then participate in the pageant on Saturday night. I learned a lot from this experience and also had a lot of fun! Here are just a few fun pictures of the night!

X-Country Skiing

I went cross country skiing with a few of my friends this past Monday and Tuesday and had a blast! We skied up Green Canyon and stayed overnight in a yurt. The weather was perfect and the mountains were beautiful for the trip. Although skiing was tiring because we had to pack all of our stuff 3.75 miles to the yurt, the trip was great. Once we got to our destination we had a snowball fight and played in the snow. We stayed overnight in the yurt and played games, stayed up late, and talked around the stove. I had such a great time and want to do this again for sure! What a neat trip!

Winter!

Wow this Christmas break sure has been exciting! With an entire month off of school, there are plenty of things that have happened over the long holiday break. Nathan and Sierra got married on December 19th, which was a special event for our family. I am happy for them both and wish them joy and happiness in the future. Here is a family picture at the temple right after the wedding.

Christmas music, and being with family and friends are my favorite things about Chrismas. I also enjoyed ringing in the new year with a bunch of my friends. I have been able to spend time with my friends, and visit with my family at different events which sure is fun!

Miss Northern Utah 1st Attendant

On Saturday I participated in the Miss Northern Utah Pageant. What a fun day it was. I was able to meet many fun girls, and share my talents in the pageant. For the pageant I participated in an interview, group dance, swimsuit, talent (flute), evening wear, and on stage question. In the end I won the title of Miss Northern Utah 1st Attendant and received a 1 year scholarship to Utah State University! It was a very exciting night! I loved the support I got when my family and friends came to watch me. I want to give a big thanks to those who helped me with the pageant!

Thanksgiving Break

What a fun Thanksgiving I had! To start off my break I got a few of my friends together and we had a "Thanksgiving Feast" at Arctic Circle. We got paper bags to make Indian vests and headbands out of. They turned out to be quite the costumes! Then we ordered food and and ate our "feast." I had a lot of fun with my friends that night. I am so grateful for the good friends that I have.

On Thanksgiving Day I went to my Grandma and Grandpa Nelson's house and we had a huge and very yummy dinner. I cannot believe the number of pies that were there! After dinner we sat and visited, and then went over to the church to play some basketball. The day sure was fun.

Later that evening our family went to Grandma Gloria's house. The Carters were down and we all decided to have a sleep-over at Grandma's. It was fun to stay up late and talk with my cousins.

On Saturday morning my family drove to Layton. We hit up a few good sales too! It was fun to look around the stores and see all the Christmas items out.

We rushed home on Saturday so that I could meet Grandma Gloria, Melissa, Alexandra, and Whitney at the Ellen Eccles Theatre. Grandma bought us tickets to see the Nutcracker with her. I loved the ballet. It has been such a long time since I have last seen that show, and I really enjoyed it.

I am thankful for the fun week that I had. I did a lot of fun activities and spent a lot of time with my family. I love them all so much. I have been very blessed to have the family that I do. I treasure every moment that I spend with them.
